Brad Miller Stays Hot

Brad Miller has been one of the hotter hitters in the Mariners’ lineup over the last week. Miller went 2 for 3 with a run batted in this evening against the Astros. Tonight, the M’s shortstop extended his hitting streak to 6 games, and his RBI proved to be the game winning run. Miller had a brain fart on the base paths by getting doubled up at first base in the 8th, but it did not prove fatal. He also played quality defense up the middle for Seattle on Wednesday night.

The 25-year-old Orlando, FL product is hitting .289 this season, with 1 home run and 7 RBI’s. During his 6-game hitting streak, Miller has hit .500 with a double, triple, 4 RBI’s and 1 stolen base. Miller has also played steady defense at short, in fact he saved a run on a diving stop in last night’s game.

Brad Miller possesses an intriguing skill set, and he has looked like a much improved player thus far in 2015. Chris Taylor has recovered from he broken wrist that plagued him this spring, and he is currently playing for the Tacoma Rainiers. If Miller keeps tearing it up with the M’s, it will be hard for Taylor to crack the lineup this summer.
