Final Thoughts

This is an important series for a Mariners’ team eager to live up to expectations in 2015. Some have the M’s winning the World Series, some have them winning the AL West, but everyone has them making the postseason for the first time since 2001.

As Nook LaLoosh would say, the Mariners “need to announce their presence with authority.” The M’s have a chance to jump out in front of an Angels’ team missing their best pitcher and one of their biggest offensive threats. Seattle cannot squander this opportunity. A fast start to the season would put some much needed breathing room between the Mariners and a depleted Angels’ squad.

I cannot remember the last time I felt so excited to get the Mariners’ season underway. I truly believe this is the best team in the American League, and reaching the playoffs should be expected out of this group. The depth of the M’s roster is remarkable, and Seattle should be set for a deep October run. 2015 is shaping up to be one for the ages in the Emerald City, and the fun begins tomorrow afternoon from the corner of Edgar & Dave at 1:05.
