Bret Boone Bat Flip

Bret Boone was a fan favorite during his time in Seattle. He was a big reason why the M’s won 116 games in 2001, and fans have not seen his kind of power in the Pacific Northwest since.

This commercial is one of my favorites. Boonie was famous for his bat flip after connecting on a home run. I can remember being a kid in the backyard mimicking his back flip when I sent a whiffle ball flying over the neighbor’s fence.

His name has been drug through the mud with accusations of performance enhancing drugs in the years since retiring. However, Boone always seemed to be having fun on the field, and I still look back fondly on the days of him playing second base for the Mariners.
