Tacoma Rainiers (Pitching)
On the pitching side, besides Taijuan Walker and Erasmo Ramirez, we will see Lucas Luetge again, and this time, he might stay for more than two or three days. Of course, if Roenis Elias is shut down some time this month, we will see one of the two starters sooner (check out more on that here).
Logan Bawcom and Anthony Fernandez are on the 40-man roster, but Fernandez has only appeared in 5 Rainiers’ games and Bawcom has a 4.91 ERA, so there is no guarantee either will make their debut this year.
Instead, veteran relievers Todd Coffey and Logan Kensing have a good chance of being added. Personally, I would like to see AAA closer Carson Smith added to use sparingly as a power arm out of the bullpen.
At the very least, it could be a chance to showcase him to other teams so that he can be used as a piece in offseason trade talks. One guy we should not count on, though, is Blake Beavan, who was just taken off the 40-man roster after clearing waivers.
