I’m not particularly high on Matt Garza, and I do not think he will sign with the Mariners, but it is good to at least look at what he could offer the M’s.
With a 3.82 ERA in 2013 splitting time between the Cubs and the Rangers, Garza could fit well into that 3 spot.
I am not okay with giving him big years and big money though, maybe 4 years/$80 at the most. Yes, he has never posted an ERA above 4.00 aside from his rookie season, but I just don’t see him meshing particularly well with the Mariners.
However my opinion only matters insomuch as it is my own.
If the M’s signed this guy I wouldn’t complain. We need pitching, haven’t you heard?
