We are getting very close to the end of the Mariners favorite player bracket to decide who you, the fans, are choosing as your all-time favorite M’s player. Yesterday we gave M’s fans across the nation to decide who would move onto the Final Four. Here is how you voted.

After a couple hundred votes were tallied, Mariners fans decided the each of the number one seeds would move on to the Final Four. The voting wasn’t even that close.

Of the four matchups, the closest battle was between one-seed, Felix Hernandez, who garnered 66% of your votes versus the dynamic arm of two-seed, Randy Johnson, who picked up only 34% of the fans’ votes.

The most lopsided of the battles was one-seed, Ken Griffey Jr., who took 92% of the vote against his competitor and two-seed, Jay Buhner, who mustered just 8% of the 71 votes cast in that race.

The other contests saw one-seed, Edgar Martinez, destroy the M’s greatest hitter of all-time and two-seed, Ichiro, the score of 89%-11% and the voice of one-seed, Dave Niehaus take down the best Mariners manager of all-time and two-seed, Lou Piniella, 78%-22%.

These wins set up Final Four matches that pit Niehaus versus King Felix and Edgar Martinez against Ken Griffey Jr.

It’s hard to compare an amazing announcer like Niehaus who has made countless of classic calls that are forever etched in Mariners history and Felix Hernandez who has created some of the greatest M’s moments as the M’s greatest pitcher ever, but you must choose.

When it comes to Griffey Jr. and Edgar, you are choosing between two offensively incredible players that carried the M’s to their greatest heights. Griffey Jr. has the defense to help his case over Edgar, but the two are truly spectacular M’s players that will always make the team’s all-time roster.
