The Seattle Mariners will be rocking a fresh new look this spring, and I love it!

The Seattle Mariners will be representing their region with pride this year in Arizona, as they will be wearing Northwest Green jerseys in Spring Training. The Mariners unveiled their new uniforms last week, and the new look is a welcome change to M’s fans.

As you can see, the M’s will be sporting a radically different look this spring in Cactus League play, and I love it. These are essentially the same tops they wear during the regular season, but the Spring Training logo has been added on the sleeve. The names of the players will appear on the back of the uniforms.

The Spring Training hats are new as well. The M’s are going with their popular two tone style, with the navy blue crown and Northwest Green bills. Again, these are nearly identical hats to the ones they wear with their Northwest Green uniforms during the season. However, instead of the traditional “S” logo, the Mariners have opted to go with the compass rose on the front. The Spring Training logo has also been added on the side of the hat.

You will probably recall the Spring Training uniforms the Mariners have worn the past few years. The tops were mainly navy blue, but featured silver highlights under the arms. The hats were plain navy blue with the compass rose in the middle. I think the infusion of Northwest Green is the perfect upgrade for an M’s squad hoping for a fresh start this spring.

Major League Baseball challenged Majestic and New Era to update all 32 teams’ Spring Training uniforms and hats this offseason. The majority of clubs will be wearing their typical third jerseys this spring, but a few have brand new custom designs from Majestic. Other than Seattle, the Detroit Tigers tops are probably my favorite. You can find the rest of the new uniforms here.

New Era has come up with some pretty creative hat designs this year. The M’s look is honestly my favorite, but honorable mention goes to the Kansas City Royals, Texas Rangers and Milwaukee Brewers. I loathe the Los Angeles Dodgers’ new “D” hat. The Atlanta Braves is another poor choice in my opinion. You can see all the new hats by clicking on this link.
