The Seattle Mariners avoided arbitration with Charlie Furbush, Evan Scribner and Leonys Martin.

The Mariners agreed to terms with all three of their arbitration eligible players this week before the deadline.

Leonys Martin who came over in a trade from the Texas Rangers with Anthony Bass for Patrick Kivlehan, James Jones and Tom Wilhelmsen has agreed to a 1-year deal with the Mariners.  They came to an agreement at $4.15 million.  Leonys Martin made $3.75 million with Texas last season.  In 95 games the 27 year old Martin hit .219/.264/.313 with 14 stolen bases last year with the Rangers.  But he wasn’t brought to the Mariners for his offense.  He was brought to roam the spacious outfield at Safeco.

Right handed reliever Evan Scribner also agreed to terms with the Mariners at $807,500.  He also receives a raise from $512,500.  Scribner came over in a trade from Oakland this offseason.  In 60 innings last year he had a 4.35 ERA and a 1.033 WHIP with a 16.00 strikeout to walk ratio.  His insane strikeout to walk ratio comes from the fact that he only gave up four walks in those 60 innings.

Left handed reliever Charlie Furbush has also agreed to a deal with the Mariners.  He gets a raise from $300,000 to $1.6 million.  In 21.2 innings, Furbush had a 2.08 ERA with a .646 WHIP and a 3.40 strikeout to walk ratio.  It was an injury plagued year for the reliever.  But Furbush has been a consistent reliever for the Mariners for five seasons.  A fixture in the bullpen.

These were the only arbitration eligible players for the Mariners this season.  Because they all agreed, the Mariners will not need to go to arbitration with any players this offseason.
