Felix Hernandez Is The Mariners Nominee For Roberto Clemente Award

Felix Hernandez has been selected as the Mariners’ nominee for the 2014 Roberto Clemente Award. The award is given each year to the player who best exemplifies the game of baseball, community involvement and sportsmanship.

Each team nominates a player and the nominees are then voted on by fans and members of the media.

Three Mariners have won the award in year’s past. Harold Reynolds won the award in 1991, Jaime Moyer won it in 2003 and Edgar Martinez won it in 2004.
