After spending two months getting himself re-accustomed to live pitching, Kendrys Morales may have finally turned the corner. A homer in each of the Mariners’ last two games has tripled his season total, and it brings a little hope that Seattle may actually get something close to reasonable production out of the DH spot the rest of the way.

But does Kendrys have a future in Seattle? On a team where left-handed batting abounds, a switch-hitter who has always been better against righties does not make the most sense. In addition, while Morales may be more affordable, it remains to be seen after last offseason whether he actually wants to be with the club.

So, to whet your appetite for the hot-stove circus that will start in a couple months, here are three potential candidates to DH in Seattle if Kendrys’ Northwest stay is a short one.
