Mariners Can’t Solve Hector Noesi, Lose On Piniella Night
By Dan Hughes
If Hector Noesi could have pitched like this FOR the Seattle Mariners, he wouldn’t be frustrating players and fans to no end AGAINST the Mariners.
Playing for his third team this season, Noesi faced the Mariners for the 4th time, the 2nd as a starter. Noesi scattered five hits and one unearned run over 7.1 IP as the Mariners fell to the White Sox 2-1 in 10 innings on Lou Piniella night.
Before the game, longtime Mariners manager Lou Piniella was honored, as he became the 8th member of the Mariners Hall of Fame. Alvin Davis, Jay Buhner, Dan Wilson and Edgar Martinez were on hand to join in the celebration.

Piniella gave a 21-minute long speech, succumbing to tears when talking about the late Dave Niehaus and again near the end of the speech when he acknowledged and recognized the fans of Seattle saying, “I thank you, salute you, and will never forget you.”
Mariners fans would like to forget this game as well as any that they have played against Noesi of late. This offense which had scored 28 runs over the past four games was stymied by Noesi, who was 2-14 with a 6.13 ERA in 36 games for the Mariners between 2012 and 2014.
Since joining the White Sox, Noesi is 6-7 with a 4.15 ERA in 20 games. He is now 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 18.1 IP and a 12/4 K/BB ratio against Seattle since being designated for assignment by Seattle earlier this year.
The Mariners look to bounce back Sunday and take the series against Chicago. Erasmo Ramirez is on the hill for Seattle.
