Well, that was a wild ride last night. After a 16-inning affair Friday night that ended Saturday morning with an Angles walkoff, the Mariners look to even this series by sending King Felix Hernandez to the hill to take on the Angels. Here’s the preview.

Game Details:

Seattle Mariners 51-45. Last 10: 5-5.

Los Angeles Angels: 58-37. Last 10: 7-3.

Game Time: 6:05 PM Pacific. Location: Anaheim, California. Angels Stadium of Anaheim.

MATCHUPS:

Pitching:

Seattle Mariners RHP Felix Hernandez (11-2, 2.12 ERA) v. Oakland Athletics RHP Garrett Richards (11-2, 2.55 ERA)

EDGE: Push. Yeah that’s right, I said it. Identical records and a similar ERA. One is coming off his first ever start for the American League All-Star team (Felix) while the other is coming off of being snubbed for the All-Star game (Richards). In his only start of the season against Seattle, Richards threw seven shutout innings, allowing only one hit.

Felix has had two starts against the Halos this year. He is 2-0 in 14.2 IP of work allowing three earned runs and striking out 20.

Lineups:

Mariners:

Endy Chavez 8

Stefen Romero 9

Robinson Cano 4

Kyle Seager 5

Logan Morrison 3

Corey Hart DH

Dustin Ackley 7

Brad Miller 6

Jesus Sucre 2

Of Note: Romero and Sucre get starts tonight giving James Jones and Mike Zunino a night off. The absence of Justin Smoak after a good game is interesting.

Angels:

Kole Calhoun 9

Mike Trout 8

Albert Pujols 3

Josh Hamilton DH

Howie Kendrick 4

David Freese 5

Efren Navarro 7

Chris Iannetta 2

John McDonald 6

Of Note: Last night’s pinch-hit hero for the Angels, Efren Navarro, gets a start tonight in left.

Final Thoughts:

The Mariners haven’t had trouble hitting the ball, they’ve had trouble scoring. I think tonight will be no different. But with Felix on the mound, he will be asked to do what he usually does as the offense will disappear once again.

Happy Felix Day

Score Prediction:

Mariners 1, Angels 0
