Johnny Cueto- Cincinnati Reds

Don’t believe me? That’s fine. But the Reds were three games under .500 going into Sunday’s play, six games back of Milwaukee for the NL Central division and three games out of the 2nd NL Wild-Card spot.

Meanwhile, if the season were to have ended last night, the Mariners would have secured the 2nd Wild-Card in the AL. According to Baseball Prospectus, the Reds only have a 28% chance of making the playoffs at this point.

So why not get something for Cueto before he can walk after next season? The Reds will probably be asking for quite the price tag, but the Mariners have the pieces to make something happen.

Something in the neighborhood of Erasmo Ramirez and Nick Franklin (or Brad Miller) for Cueto could get it done. Though I’m sure the Reds would ask for Taijuan Walker at first.
