I know it’s only mid-May. But we are 36 games into the season before today’s game. That means almost a quarter of the games have been played. If the Seattle Mariners are going to continue to play the way they have the past few weeks, they are going to be in the running for a playoff spot come September.

But in order to do that, the team needs to make a move or two. But what? For whom? There are going to be a lot of trade rumors in the coming weeks and months.

Let’s take a look at some early, possible trade candidates/scenarios as we steamroll towards the July 31st trade deadline.

Come June (latest July), Paxton and Walker should be back, minimizing our need for SP. Right now we need offense and the OF is the best place to get it. We do not need another 1b/dh player. PERIOD!!! Three bad picks=3 strikes. YOU”RE OUT DAN!!!

LOL. I did say “could” and I did say the “Mariners”. I am simply speculating at some moves the Mariners could be looking at, not necessarily ones I would make.

I would try to acquire either Andre Ethier or Matt Kemp from Los Angeles. But it doesn’t seem likely that they will make either available.

If Corey Hart can play RF, why not keep him there? (there’s your power bat in the outfield) And that leaves room for a guy like Dunn.

I’d rather not get any of the three, but the Mariners don’t exactly have a history of making sense.

The Cubs have no room or nead for Franklin but we will take Tyler Pike!!!
