The Offense

Over the past week, the hot bats went a little cold and the cold bats warmed up. Fortunately for the Mariners, they HAD more cold bats than they had hot.

Michael Saunders has been the catalyst, in the top of the lineup replacing Almonte, Saunders is batting .444 in the past week and has raised his season average to .263.

Mike Zunino – who was called out by Charlie earlier in the week to start walking more – batted .400 this past week and tripled his season walk total from one to three.

Robinson Cano still has only the one homer on the season, but he now leads the team in RBI with 18 after adding seven to his total this past week.

The Mariners as a team are still 14th in the American League with a .234 batting average, but are only two points behind Cleveland and 10 points behind Boston.
