Three, my favorite and lucky number. I grew up not only a Mariners fan, but also an Atlanta Braves fan. Number 3 was worn by Portland, Ore native Dale Murphy. He was my idol, despite the fact he would have told me not to idolize him.

So now that we are only three days away from Opening Day, it feels very real. The last two games of the Cactus League schedule are about to be played and it’s time for some meaningful baseball.

But first, as we continue to count down to Opening Day, we have been voting on who is the most popular Mariner to wear the numbers 9 through 1. Yesterday, 60% of you voted Harold Reynolds as the most popular #4.

Here are today’s nominees:

Mike Zunino– The current number 3. Only time will tell if he will be extremely popular, but he’s off to a pretty good start.

Domingo Ramos– Wore the #3 for five seasons in the 1980’s. Pretty low number for a bench player.

Alex Rodriguez– Are there Mariners fans out there who would vote for him?

There you have it. Tough choices I know. Be sure to vote and tell your friends to vote. The results will be announced in this space tomorrow as we get even closer to Opening Day.
