Good morning Mariners fans. It’s getting closer. We have two confirmed members of the starting rotation. It can pretty much be said that Brad Miller is our starting shortstop. We’re pretty sure we know who our five outfielders are gonna be. Opening Day is only four days away.
We continue to celebrate the final push to Opening Day with a countdown of the most popular Mariners to wear uniform numbers 9 through 1.
Yesterday, we had you vote on the #5. And the winner was:
Olerud commanded 76% of the vote, beating out Brad Miller as the closest challenger.
So today, we look at the #4.
But like with #6. I don’t think there is even a question as to who it should be. But I’ll ask anyways.
Harold Reynolds– The clear-cut favorite in my opinion. Tied with Jose Lopez for longest tenure with the #4 as a Mariner.
Jose Lopez- For six years, Lopez roamed Seattle with a #4 on his back. He was an all-star the first year he wore the number.
Mark McLemore– When my Aunt first heard the name of the Seattle-based rapper Macklemore, that is was Mark turning to a rapping career. (Face palm)
Those are your three candidates. Again, there is only one clear favorite in my opinion. Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe you feel like McLemore was a more popular Mariner than MLB Network front man Harold Reynolds.
Voting closes tomorrow morning when we announce the winner and look at the #3.
I just want to say this one more time: 4 DAYS UNTIL OPENING DAY!
