The Seattle Mariners have signed 11 players to contracts for the 2014 season meaning all players on the 40-man roster are under contract.
The team announced the signings Thursday.
The signings included Jesus Montero, who suffered a ton (no pun intended I swear) of media attention not only for his PED suspension in 2013, but for showing up to Spring Training this season 40-lbs overweight.
In addition to Montero, the Mariners also signed pitchers Erasmo Ramirez, Brandon Maurer and Lucas Luetge and infielder Brad Miller. Pitchers Bobby LaFromboise, Hector Noesi, Stephen Pryor and Taijuan Walker, catcher Jesus Sucre and infielder Carlos Triunfel also received deals.
Financial terms of the deals were not released.
This by no means indicates that the Mariners are done shopping. Rumors surrounding Nick Franklin and/or Justin Smoak being traded as well as signing Kendrys Morales continue to circulate. But for now, the roster sits at 40.
