Hundreds of thousands of people flooded the streets of Seattle to celebrate the first major pro sports title in 35 years on Wednesday.
Over 700,000 “12th Man” faithful celebrated the Seattle Seahawks first Super Bowl championship with a parade from the Space Needle to CenturyLink Field. An estimated 27,000 fans gathered in Safeco to watch the Super Bowl parade and the celebration on the big screen.

Fans were allowed to claim the free tickets last night, overwhelming the server at Ticketmaster, creating a backlog lasting several hours.
The 27,000 fans at Safeco for the viewing party would have ranked as the 20th largest crowd for a Mariners game in 2013. Hopefully the Super Bowl hangover will spill into Safeco during the Mariners 2014 season.
It is yet to be seen if the championship will have lasting effects on the Mariners. But if the Mariners go out and make some more moves prior to Opening Day, it would be hard not wonder if it had something to do with the title.
