Stephen Colbert has made a living out of poking fun at people in a tongue-in-cheek sort-of way.
He was in top form again Thursday night as he had both Seattle’s mayor Ed Murray and Denver’s mayor Michael Hancock on the show as part of his “Superb Owl” coverage.
Colbert referred to Murray as “Seattle’s first openly gay mayor” and Hancock as the city’s “openly black mayor.”
But the real zinger came when Murray declared that Seattle would win the Super Bowl, to which Colbert replied, “Okay, The Seattle Mariners, that’s bold.”
He then called the Seahawks, “The Mariners of football.”
