For the first time since 2011, the Seattle Mariners will be on ESPN2 as part of the network’s Opening Day coverage.
The 2014 season kicks off March 31, in Anaheim against the Los Angeles Angels, coverage begins on ESPN2 at 7 pm PDT, first pitch at 7:05 pm.
The last time the Mariners were televised on ESPN was September 14, 2011 against the New York Yankees. The Mariners will no doubt garner additional national media attention in 2014 with the acquisition of 2B Robinson Cano.
The entire slate of Opening Day baseball coverage on ESPN and ESPN2 looks like this:
The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres will kick off the season on ESPN on Sunday, March 30, in a 5 pm PDT game. Then the network will follow with five national broadcasts on Monday, March 31:
• Cubs at Pirates, 10 am PDT (ESPN)
• Red Sox at Orioles, noon PDT (ESPN2)
• Cardinals at Reds, 1 pm PDT (ESPN)
• Rockies at Marlins, 4 pm PDT (ESPN2)
• Mariners at Angels, 7 pm PDT (ESPN2)
