The Seattle Mariners have all but officially announced that they are bringing back LHP Charlie Furbush. Reports are saying that Furbush is set to make $750,000 in 2014, which is a nice pay bump over the $504,000 Charlie made last year. Furbush’s one year contract settles the possibility of an arbitration issue that was on the horizon. Although this does not solve the Mariners bullpen/closer situation, it is a step in the right direction. Furbush appeared 71 games for the M’s last year going 2-6 with a 3.74 ERA. The numbers do not do justice to how well he pitches against left handed hitters.

I really hope that Charlie has a successful year for the M’s. After this year, it is my hope that “Furbushed” will become a term commonly used by Mariners fans.
