The Seattle Mariners added four players to the 40-man roster on Wednesday, protecting them from the upcoming Rule 5 Draft.
Romero was a 12th-round pick out of Oregon State in 2010 and most recently made the news with his performance in the 2013 AFL Fall Stars Game. Romero his .277 with 11 homers and 74 RBI in 93 games for Triple-A Tacoma.
Jones was a 4th-round pick out of Long Island University in 2009. He spent the majority of 2013 at Double-A Jackson hitting .275 with six homers, 45 RBI and 28 stolen bases.
Choi was signed as an international free agent from South Korea in 2009. Choi hit .295 with 18 homers and 85 RBI between Class A High Desert and Double-A Jackson.
Bawcom was acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Brandon League trade. Bawcom posted a 2.91 ERA with 21 saves for Triple-A Tacoma.
The Mariners’ 40-man roster now stands at 38 players, leaving room for two free agent signings.
