Mariners Interested in Dexter Fowler

Now, I have to assume that Fowler is Plan B to Kemp’s Plan A. I don’t think the M’s have enough pieces to acquire both. But, the news is out that the Mariners are at least looking into a possible trade with the Rockies for Fowler.

JJ touched on this last week and it does make sense. I think that Kemp would be better suited to fill the Mariners right-handed power problem. Fowler gives the M’s a better defensive centerfielder (five errors in 70 games for Kemp, three in 110 games for Fowler), but he’s a switch hitter that has a right-handed power outage, though is a better hitter from the right side.

In 2013, Fowler hit .237 with 10 homers from the left side and .323 with two homers from the right.

Stay tuned on this one.
