Fire crews from three departments knocked down a Monday afternoon fire that caused damage to a Bellevue house belonging to Seattle Mariners pitcher Felix Hernandez.
No information was immediately available as to the cause or extent of the blaze.
Hernandez was in Napa, Calif., when the fire started about 4 p.m. Monday but was on his way back to Seattle because of the blaze. No one was in the home at the time.
Firefighters from nearby Redmond and Mercer Island joined Bellevue crews to attack the blaze.
According to King County public records, the 5,100-square-foot, five-bedroom, four-bath house belonging to Felix and his wife Sandra Hernandez was built in 2009 and is valued at $2.85 million.
Investigators have determined that the fire started in the laundry room and caused an estimated $250,000 worth of damages.
