Joey Cora
Joey Cora would be a good fit for the Mariners. His upbeat, enthusiastic personality would certainly be refreshing around the M’s clubhouse. He is known around Seattle as a former All Star 2nd baseman who once had a 24 game hitting streak (AL record for switch hitters), and shed some pretty famous tears for his team and city after losing to the Cleveland Indians in ’95.
The majority of his managing experience came as time served along side Ozzie Guillen for the Chicago White Sox and the Miami Marlins. His experience with a bat in his hands, especially as a lead off man, would pay dividends for the young hitters we have on our roster.
