My Thoughts:
Good fit for the Mariners. He has the bat that will project well at the catcher position. The fact that he can hit for power to all fields is very nice considering the spacious left field at Safeco. Unlike Montero, Zunino won’t need to transition to DH or 1B down the road, he will be a legitimate defensive catcher for a long time. However, he does have some work to do to improve his receiving and transferring skills. This player is probably ready for +A or AA ball right now. I love the pick.
