Mock MLB Draft: Version 2

This is a work in progress… these are just my thoughts and you can say whatever you want. It won’t hurt my feelings.  It’s already version 2 as I made some changes based on new information since making the first draft a week and a half ago.

Just for the record this isn’t what I “want” to happen or even what I think “makes sense”, rather, it’s what I believe will happen based off of various small pieces of information I’ve received, researched and read.  Enjoy and feel free to give some feedback.

    Is Giolito a possibility?

  • Harrison_Crow

@TPC   He’s certainly a possibly and the Mariners have been monitoring his situation. But I see Gausman as a much more likelier possibility. Right now if the Mariners were sitting 1-1 I believe it would be…
    1. Buxton2. Correa3. Zunino 4. Gausman
    5. Giolitto
I have my reasons for believing what I do…

  • maqman

@Harrison_Crow You are probably right, or close to it.  Personally if they don’t get Buxton I hope they take Giolito but doubt that they will.

  • Coug1990

I would like Buxton, but I do think he will be gone.  I am with Harrison and think the Mariners will choose Correa.  I think it would be a good choice.  I like Giolito as well, but I still am scare of a HS pitcher that already has had arm trouble, even if the upside is huge.

  • Coug1990

In fact, I am so scared of HS pitchers with arm trouble, I left the “d” off scared in my previous post.

Today, Appel went 9 ip, 11 so, 1 walk & 4 h, in the college playoffs. Looks like  a great performance just before the draft and may have locked him into # 1 with Houston. The Twins have to pay Mauer 180 million and Zunnio is the only guy that could protect that investment. 180 million is a lot of coins.
    I think we get Buxton.
