Baseball Players Aren't Comedians... Except When They Are

The Mariners won last night. The Mariners beat a playoff bound team. The Mariners were entertaining last night. But not as entertaining as Felix Hernandez and Adrian Beltre.

Beltre singled off Felix early which kicked off the nights antics. After the pop up in the video above, Felix and Beltre went nuts. At first, I interpreted it as anger, which is odd because I remember Beltre’s last game as a Mariner. Felix was embracing him crying, and if you looked close you could see Felix lipping “Don’t leave”…but I digress, Felix and Beltre are friends. Later on we could clearly see that Felix and Beltre were not angry with one another, but rather were sharing an amazing banter. Beltre was accusing Felix of altering the baseball, and Felix was making fun of Beltre’s hilarious antics at the plate. The only person having a better time than those two was Dave Simms commentating.

Just a friendly reminder that baseball players are humans, and as we get wrapped up in the season and the stats, we tend to forget that. Also a large reminder that I miss Adrian Beltre terribly. Why couldn’t you be left handed Beltre? Why…?
