Mariners option Kelley & Furbush

I certainly was not expecting this.

A bit of shocking news today as the Mariners optioned Shawn Kelley to AAA, and repetitive theme has begun. Yet another bullpen position has opened up. It’s almost frustrating, Kelley sure seemed like a lock.

Kelley’s demotion, now increases the odds that one of Luetge, Delabar, Furbush*, or Ramirez makes this team. As Kelley adjoins himself to the Rainier’s roster, the Mariners still have a couple of tough decisions to make. Will they keep Catricala or Liddi and play Figgins in LF while Carp is disabled? Will they demote the 3B prospects and keep Figgins there, playing Wells in LF? Why even wait to announce Kawasaki and Seager have made the team?

I need finality Wedge, hurry up.

* Update from Morosi, Furbush headed south.
