AFL Day 2: Snow Gets The Win!

Anyone that reads this blog should understand that acknowledge that wins are an irrelevant stat. So whether Forrest Snow gets the win or someone else gets the win it doesn’t matter to me. But, it’s just a flashy title.

I don’t have a lot of time so this is going to be short.

No position players played last night but we had our share of the pitchers throw. Here are their lines.

  • Forrest Snow – 3IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0, 0 BB and 3K’s, 3 Ground Outs, 3 Fly Outs

Just an overwhelming performance. Maybe not dominating or anything like that but, considering the elements and the line-up he faced and what he did. It’s just really impressive. Striking out Alex Castellanos, Tim Wheeler and Jake Goebbert. Can’t say enough good things about him.

  • Brian Moran – 1.1 IP, 2H, 2 R, 2 BB, 1 HBP and 1 K, 2 Ground Outs.

Commonly thought of as a LOOGY between his delivery and his pitches, Moran just had trouble throwing strikes. He got into trouble and he paid for it. It’s been the same story all year.

  • Steve Hensley – 0.2 IP, 4H, 5R, 1 BB, 1 HBP and 1 K, 1 Ground Out.

Hensley kind of took a beating and he too had his command missing. This Fall League is really important for Hensley as he could be someone on the Mariners radar who I, and a few others, have mentioned could potentially step into the bullpen out of spring training.

We’ll be talking more prospects through the month and I even have a podcast coming up over at Mariner central so keep a look out. As always feel free to chime in.
