As for the cost of acquiring the prospects remember that it's all relative to the situation. Walker would have cost substantially more (most likely twice as much) had he been drafted just 15 picks previously. All because of "suggested slotting." Then you have to consider the International Free-Agency and the fact that anyone can negotiate with anyone. It drives up the price. I find it interesting that #1 cost us $.8MM and #2 can cost us over $10MM. That college education really helps I guess. Are Carp and Wells no longer considered prospects?
