Forget about the context of the game. Where two teams both under .500 pretty much play meaningless game in July. If you just watched the game because of the fact it was a baseball game and forgot about what’s going on with Figgins, the issues with scoring runs and watched the game develop and play through. It was a decently fun game.
We got to see Ackley make a nice scoop while first base, Greg Halman hits a 3-run homer, Carp had a couple of doubles and Brendan Ryan continues his craziness. Not to mention some good pitching performances too. It was a decently fun game to watch in a vacum.
But, put the game into context and right now as a fan we are all scrapping to get by. This season had been interesting and for more enjoyable than I had thought. But, at this point it’s tough for me to tune in day in and day out.
Here’s for hoping things can somehow turn around.
