Boxscore: Game 77

I’m on the road and in Dallas this morning. I didn’t watch any of the game and so I don’t have much to comment about. But I will say the thing that immedately stands out to me in the boxscore is the lack of walks.

If the Mariners aren’t going to drive the ball, they need another way to get on base and it’s just frustrating the lack of couts worked against a mediocre pitcher.

A quick second thought is that Carlos Peguero continues to buy himself time at the major league level with a 2-4 effort with a big home run. It’s frustrating because whenever I think the organization is ready to pull the plug and has finally had enough, he does something big.

The lack of walks is a concern, I hope Wedgie shifts his focus a bit from his “be aggressive” insistence and re-focuses on “having good at-bats.” He evidently likes Peggy and thinks he’s getting better and making progress. I hope he’s right.
