Poll: #2 Position Player

Jim Callis said today during the Baseball America draft chat, that he thought the Mariners were going to stick to a bat and could potentially go with either Lindor or Bubba Starling at #2 overall.

I know we’ve talked a lot about who would we take here and there, but let’s beat the dead horse some more. If Anthony Rendon was the first player taken off the board and you were “forced” to take a position player who do you take?

I really don’t think there is a “sure thing” in any position player behind Rendon and I’d love to get the general consensus.

If the Mariners stayed only with Position Player who would you want?

Seems like Lindor has the greater upside, at a more critical position. Lindor, no doubt.

Even if I HAD to take a position player. I still take Garret Cole. I just put 1B next to his name when I make the selection and then convert him back to pitcher 15 seconds later.

Pitcher is a position, sounds legal to me. I like Springer as his arrival time in the Show is earlier but if the fans will be patient then Bubba could be a five tool firecracker. Boras will want a fortune for him but that will be the case with whomever we take with the second pick. The QB spot at Nebraska is just a marketing ploy, he’s going to play our game.
