Adam Kennedy arrested for DUI

As is being reported by Larry Stone of the Seattle times, Adam Kennedy was arrested on Wednesday night in Newport beach around 9:00 pm for DUI. Kennedy was signed to a minor league contract on Jan 10th, and is a non-roster invitee to spring training.

Kennedy is expected to challenge Josh Wilson for the backup infielder roll. Kennedy is best known for being the MVP of the ALCS back in 2002 with the Angles, when they went on to win the world series. Last season, he was a 1 WAR player for the Nationals, posting just a .303 wOBA and a .655 OPS. Kennedy can still play decent defense. He finished 2010 with a 2.7 UZR in limited action. It works out to be a UZR of 5.5 if he’d played 150 games for those of you who want a convenient reference point.
