11/18 Hot Stove Notes

  • According to both Ken Rosenthal and Bob Nightengale, the Mariners are one of several teams that have shown “strong interest” in Justin Upton. Obviously, Justin Upton is an excellent player that any team should be glad to have. He’s young, signed to a long term, reasonable contract, and well above average both offensively and defensively. The Mariners going out and getting him is certainly an interesting possibility, though one that would take a gigantic package consisting of several of our best prospects. Then again, it was just a short year ago that Jack Zduriencik acquired Cliff Lee for Tyson Gillies, Phillippe Aumont, and JC Ramirez, so I guess anything is possible.

Moves around the league

  • The Rockies traded Clint Barmes to Houston for RHP Felipe Paulino. Yeah, slow day.
