This Padres series is hilarious in terms of all the layers. For the first time ever, we play a somewhat meaningful series against our fake rivals. Before the season, I thought the coolest underlying part of this series would be Adrian Gonzalez hitting the market because the Padres would already be circling the drain. I dreamed of a mid-game trade. Now there's no chance in hell they deal him this year. By the way you're right, WAR is about the best stat we have right now.
