I'm struggling a little bit with forming an opinion on the whole Jose Guillen thing. He'd certainly be an offensive improvement, but I also really hate the idea of he and Milton Bradley being in the same clubhouse. Honestly, if it happened, I'd probably be pretty much indifferent.

As for Gordon, you're probably right - but Dayton Moore is an idiot, so you never know.

I like Dejesus, and I'd be all for the Mariners acquiring him, provided it means Bradley is confined to DH'ing and Griffey/Sweeney see less time. He's a nice little player.

Hey, it's Michael from KingsofKauffman.com here getting some input from M's fans.

I'm sure you've seen on mlbtraderumors that there's a small bit of Jose Guillen buzz. As M's fans, what's your take on Jose? I'm surely not going to be as familiar with your farm prospects but what would be your max price for Guillen? I'd imagine KC would probably eat up to 10 of the 12 million he's owed in his last year if the return was right. He's been slugging a lot better in the DH role this year and still has a good arm, though his range is worse than a redwood at this point.

And just an aside, if Dayton Moore traded Alex Gordon at this point, he wouldn't even survive getting chased out of town. They'd skewer him alive - granted the luster is off Gordon at this point, but he can still be an above average big leaguer once he gets the hole in his swing fixed, but he wouldn't command the proper return right now.

Another name you may be interested (though not much for power): David DeJesus - 4.5 million this year, 6 million option for next year. The quintessential balanced consistent player, he won't do anything spectacular, but he rarely slumps and won't hurt you anywhere.

Guys like Lance Berkman, Luke Scott, Alex Gordon, and Josh Willingham all still make a lot of sense. But a lot of the time these moves just come out of nowhere. They're tough to predict.
