Neither Cain nor Sanchez has ever accumulated such value. Now Tim Lincecum is a better pitcher averaging 7-8 WAR ... but Felix is quickly showing that he is very similar pitcher to Lincecum, and maybe just as good. Also Webb/Haren is a better pairing than Lincecum/Cain. Now as a trio with Morrow or RRS sure Sanchez, Cain and Lincecum are better. Potentially Morrow could be just as good as Sanchez. But, he may never actually get there... but again you were only talking potential. Are you joking me? Felix and Lee are so much better than Lincecum and Cain. Awesome pitchers. Great duo. They're both well above average, but Cain had a ton of luck on his side this year. Lincecum, of course, is one of the best, if not THE best pitcher in the game. Personally, I think I'd go with the Mariners rotation. Felix and Lee is superior to Lincecum and Cain, (only because Lee is significantly better than Cain), while Sanchez is marginally better than Ryan Rowland-Smith. It's a tough call though. Don't get me wrong, but not to mention the S.F. Giants as having a top rated pitching duo is a little silly -- especially after mentioning Arizona's top two. There is not a team in either league that wouldn't take either Tim Linsecum (two-time national league Cy winner), Matt Cain, or Jon Sanchez in a heartbeat. Not two aces on the staff, but three potentially. Lee and Felix make a very nice pair, but I'd rather have the Giants staff if the choice were up to me. This is a very nice deal for the Mariners.
