He was more of a free swinger this past season, if I remember correctly. I wonder if being reunited with Wak and Van Burkleo and landing on (another) team that is cool with non-well rounded players as long as they do SOmETHING good (Lopez, Branyan, Ichiro) could get him back on track. As a DH would really fit perfect into the idea of having a "power hitter" in the line-up. We don't have to worry about him playing the field with the guys we have and if we bring Branyan back he have a solid 4-5 guys in the line-up. Yes, he strikes out but he still is projected to have wOBA of .375 someone that can hit. I'd rather have him hitting than Jose Lopez. While his value has gone down it's part of it was an injury plagued year and also to him playing the field which has been just simply awful. He's still an above average hitter. That makes me think the Mets really are interested; they have a demonstrated affinity for AL West guys 2-3 years past their peak.
